What is the Edge?

Open, experimental, inter-disciplinary pursuits in which technology and creativity are intertwined

The Edge is an initiative of the Queensland Government delivered through the State Library of Queensland. It is a cornerstone of ARTS, CULTURE + ME – The Queensland Government's Children and Young People in the Arts Action Plan 2008–2011.

The Edge exists to broaden and bridge education, arts, technology and enterprise platforms. It offers space for collaborative learning, experimentation and exploration of craft, technique and technology connecting informal learning with formal education, creative, cultural and business networks.

The Edge is a springboard from which to embark on further education.

The Edge supports enrolment at colleges, TAFES and universities.

The Edge fosters the development of entrepreneurs, artists, technologists, thinkers, writers and designers.

The Edge is productive and social, connecting to and sharing its activities with, the world.
